Matthew 25:35: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.”
As a core outreach initiative in Nsaru community. AHM launched the children feeding program under the Discipleship program to address widespread poverty, hunger, and spiritual needs among vulnerable children, it combines practical nutritional support with faith-based discipleship to build resilience, community, and hope for a brighter future.
Key Features and Operation

- Target Group and Scale: The program serves approximately 130 children and youth from underserved families, many facing challenges like orphanhood, domestic hardships, or limited access to education. It operates three days per week, typically in the mornings, to align with school schedules and community routines.
- Meals Provided: Children receive shared, nutritious meals designed to combat malnutrition—common in the region—fueling their physical health and ability to learn. While exact menus vary seasonally (often featuring local staples like maize porridge, beans, vegetables, and fruits), the emphasis is on balanced, affordable sustenance to support growth and energy.
- Integration with Discipleship: Beyond food, each session incorporates Bible teachings, group prayers, and interactive discussions to nurture spiritual development. This holistic approach fosters a sense of belonging, emotional support, and moral grounding, helping participants like the Madalitso children’s choir (one of three groups involved) express faith through activities such as singing.
- Daily Flow and Activities: Sessions begin with communal meals, followed by age-appropriate lessons on topics like God’s love, gratitude, and life skills. The program ties into AHM’s broader ecosystem, including educational tutoring and community events, ensuring long-term impact.

Impact and Recent Updates
The program has been transformative, enabling children to attend school regularly, participate in choirs, and break cycles of poverty through sustained care. As of late 2025, AHM is actively planning a year-end Christmas celebration for participants, with ongoing prayer focuses on program expansion and sustainability amid economic pressures. Funded by donations and partnerships, it exemplifies AHM’s mission of “reaching beyond the dust” to empower the next generation. For involvement or visits, please Contacts us.
